Project 52: Week 9: Baking with Mom {Elk River, MN Photographer}

Who doesn’t love to bake? What about getting to eat the freshly baked items? I know my two boys love to help bake and cook. “E” had been asking me to make Banana bread for quite some time so we had some bananas go a little brown (yep I don’t like much brown on my bananas) so we were able to make some banana bread (muffins).   For Christmas the boy’s received some fun aprons and chef hats. You need to look like a chef to feel like you are one right?  “E” my oldest would love to have a star wars one so we are going to see if Grandma will make him one. He is growing up too fast and isn’t really into the same stuff he used to be.  Do you let your kids bake with you? What is their Favorite thing to bake?

“J” loved to get right up close and check out what the mixer was doing. I have to watch him close as I am still not sure what he might do. But he did mostly watching with a little help here and there. Nothing foreighn was added to our muffins.  “E” had fun controlling the big mixer. I let him run it with a little guidance. He thought it was fun.  Both “E” and “J” are my little chefs and enjoy cooking with Mom. “E” was very careful when pouring in the ingredients. He didn’t want to loose any it.

I just love how determined “J” looks to get off all the extra flower on the mixer tray. He was a big help when it was his turn to help. “E” turning on the mixer. It is crazy how fast they grow up and want to help even more. “J” is my poser and loves to ask me to take his photo. I just love his little smiles he gives me.

The boys love to make our Banana Bread into muffins. And who wants to have just plain round muffins? Not these boys.  We have some fun muffin pans and the boys picked out the Easter ones. Here both “E’ and “J” are busy filling up their pans. They each had one to fill up. We did it with little to no mess thankfully.

And what little kid doesn’t love to watch what is baking in the oven? I know I used to sit in front of the oven watching goodies bake.  I love it when my boys sit there and watch our goodies bake especially when they have helped make them.
